Our Enfield Bayonet is a socket bayonet, which was an improvement over the earlier plug bayonets. Socket Bayonets were made with a socket that fit over the barrel of the musket and had a slot which slid past the fore sight. The Enfield Bayonet is a later period bayonet that has a locking catch. The blade is offset to one side allowing the soldier to load the musket. Our high quality Enfield Bayonet is a replica of the Enfield Bayonet that was used during the American Civil War. The bayonet blade is hand forged from EN45 high carbon steel. It is designed to be paired with an 1853 Three Band Enfield Long Rifle. Included is a leather sheath with a hanging loop and a brass tip.

Please Note: It is not uncommon for a replica bayonet to require adjustments to fit a rifle properly. This is due to differences in manufacturing between the original rifle and the replica bayonet, as they were not produced by the same manufacturer. The scabbards also vary slightly, some will not have the hook attachment.
