Russian Shashka Cavalry Saber M1881
The Hanwei 1881 Shashka Saber by Paul Chen/Hanwei is a reproduction of the cavalry saber that was used by Russian cavalry in the 12th century Caucasus region of Europe. The saber is associated with the Cossacks and was standard military issue for Russian cavalry during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II. The blade is made of high-carbon steel and is etched with the royal cipher. The blade geometry of the saber is ideal for its slashing role, and the distal taper provides perfect balance. The unique hilt styling does not have a basket guard, but instead features a ribbed hardwood grip and a strongly hooked pommel, which are assisted by a strong leather lanyard to provide handling security. This saber is a unique addition to any sword collection and is perfect for display or reenactments. Made by Hanwei, it is a high-quality reproduction that is sure to impress.
